Refusing a Prescription - British Columbia
When a prescription is processed with an error, it may need to be refused. All refusals submitted to PharmaCare must be submitted with an Intervention Code. When a refill is refused:
- If it is the first fill, it is removed from the patient's Profile.
- If it is not the first fill, it remains on the patient’s profile with a status of Cancelled.
To refuse prescription in British Columbia:
- Search for and select the patient.
- Select the Profile tab.
- Select the prescription(s) that need to be refused.
- Select Correct.
The Correct window appears. - Select Refuse.
A prompt appears to validate if the prescription(s) should be refused. - Select Yes. The Rx Detail > Third Party tab opens.
- Select Add. A new dropdown is added in the For Reversal section.
- From the dropdown, select the appropriate intervention code from the list. This is the intervention code that PharmaCare will see.
- Select OK.
